End Times Crafts

I make a wide variety of Indonesian inspired art pieces in bold colors including paintings, sculpture, collage, planters, and wearable art.  I grew up with Barong masks and Javanese paintings and love to create works of art that reflect that kind of imagery and use it as a catalyst.  I also produce wearable art with similar themes and iconography.  All of my projects are made of primarily repurposed materials from the school where I teach art.  Even the clay I use is made from paper pulp from the paper waste we generate, and the clothing is primarily thrifted or donated. I really enjoy the idea of bringing new life to something that might end up in a landfill, no matter how small the impact, it at least shows my students that creativity can help build agency and sometimes even a little hope.
